After a 14-day layoff, Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar made his long-awaited return with the club in its 2-0 away win against Stade de Reims. Neymar was as active as usual in many of the team’s attacking sequences. But the forward could now be ruled out of action once again.
Neymar suffered a calf injury during the fixture against Reims, according to a report from L’Equipe. Neymar was often shown in clear discomfort during the contest but still managed to play in all 90 minutes of the game. The Brazilian is now deemed as a doubt for the team’s upcoming home fixture against Angers due to the minor injury. PSG will cautiously watch his progress over this week and then come to a determination on whether he could be fully fit to go for the home contest.
If Neymar can not go for the game against Angers, it would be a significant loss for manager Thomas Tuchel considering that he is already slated to be without midfielder Angel Di Maria due to his suspension. Still, PSG may just want to be cautious with Neymar’s slight injury as he is set to feature for the Brazilian national team over the upcoming international break.
