Report: Napoli Continues To Want a High Fee for PSG Transfer Target

Over the past couple of transfer windows, Paris Saint-Germain has shown interest in SSC Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly. Every time the transfer market opens up, there’s always rumors from different sources linking the 29-year-old to the capital club.

However, the obstacle that continues to be in the way is always the price. PSG is willing to pay a significant fee. For example, Tuttosport (via Canal Supporters) reported that the reigning Ligue 1 champions submitted a loan offer with a deferred purchase payment of €52-million plus €7-million in bonuses.

Nonetheless, that reported offer isn’t good enough for Napoli as they want more money to let go of the Senegal international.

According to Il Mattinothe Italian club wants between €80 and €85-million, which for a 29-year-old defender, isn’t a smart purchase for PSG. Napoli is looking to squeeze every last euro out of PSG, and it’s not the first time. They previously wanted an outrageous amount for their former midfielder Allan as they demanded €120-million at one point from the capital club.

Fast forward a year and a half later, and Napoli ends up selling the Brazil international for €25-million to Everton FC this summer. They lowered their price by €100-million, so expect Napoli to drop their asking price for Koulibaly next summer.
