Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe will likely not start in the France national team’s upcoming UEFA Nations League fixture against Croatia, according to a report from Le Parisien.
Kimpembe started and played in all 90 minutes of France’s fixture against Sweden on Saturday. Now, he may need to be benched for the contest against Croatia considering that he is slated to start in PSG’s Ligue 1 opener against RC Lens on Thursday. This may come to fruition as, according to the report, Kimpembe featured with the substitutes in France’s last training session.
At the least, France national team manager Didier Deschamps confirmed during a press conference on Monday that Kimpembe will be available for the fixture.
PSG sure hopes that Kimpembe will not take part in the fixture against Croatia, as it needs as many fit and available players as possible for its league opener against Lens. At the moment, seven PSG players will miss the match due to positive coronavirus tests.
