Report: Inter Milan Emerge as a Contender to Sign Former PSG Forward Cavani

Inter Milan is the latest team to show interest in signing former Paris Saint-Germain forward and current free agent Edinson Cavani, according to a report from the Italian-based outlet CalcioMercato.

At the moment, Inter Milan is not in desperate need of a center forward, but this could all change soon. Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez has received interest from FC Barcelona as of late. If the Catalan side ends up completing a deal for the Argentine forward, Inter would then be in need of an immediate replacement. The club views Cavani along with AS Roma striker Edin Dzeko as players who could possibly replace Martinez if the Argentine departs for Barca.

The report also mentions that Cavani has been in talks with Serie A side Juventus as well. Cavani is seeking a three-year deal worth an estimated €8 million net per season. This would align with Juventus’ budget for the current transfer window, but the club prefers to fill other priorities at the moment.

Cavani remains a free agent with the ability to sign with any team without a transfer fee having to be posted to acquire the PSG legend.
