Report: Inter Milan Defender Remains on PSG’s Radar for a Potential Transfer Move

Paris Saint-Germain has long been rumored to be interested in one Serie A defender, and now the club is set on ramping up its efforts to potentially sign the talent.

PSG remains interested in Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, according to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport‘s Nicolo Schira. The report mentions that Skriniar’s agent, Marcelo Simonian, is in talks with Inter for an agreement involving the defender. Inter remains firm on its stance to seek €60 million for Skriniar, which could pose an issue for PSG and its budget plans for the ongoing transfer window. Still, Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, is not halting his pursuit of the talent as he is preparing a five-year offer for him that would up his salary to a €6 million per year contract.

If PSG is granted the opportunity to speak to Skriniar, the club would first need to convince the talent to agree to terms on a deal. This could be a difficulty for PSG considering that Skriniar has already provided public comments confirming his commitment to staying with Inter for the upcoming season.

Leonardo has been in the hunt to sign a center-back to shore up depth issues at the position now that longtime defender Thiago Silva has departed from the club. For now, manager Thomas Tuchel is slated to rely on Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe for his starting center-back pairing for the upcoming season. But in the unpredictable world of the transfer market, this could possibly change soon.
