Report: Draxler Remains a Doubt for PSG’s Fixture Against Marseille

Julian Draxler may have to wait a bit longer to make his first appearance for Paris Saint-Germain this season.

According to a report from RMC Sport‘s Loic Tanzi, Draxler missed training on Saturday ahead of the team’s fixture against Olympique de Marseille. The German talent is still recovering from an adductor injury that he suffered during training on Wednesday. He subsequently missed the team’s Ligue 1 opener against RC Lens because of the injury. PSG sorely needed his presence during the contest as the club produced a lowly attacking showing with a mere one total shot on target against the newly promoted Ligue 1 side.

For the moment, Draxler has not been officially ruled out for the fixture against Marseille. PSG will be sure to remain cautious with his recovery as the club is in the midst of a four fixtures in 10 days run.

As the report also mentions, Neymar and four other players returned to training with PSG after their self-isolation period from their positive coronavirus tests. So, if Draxler is not able to go, manager Thomas Tuchel would sure hope that he can at the least get back multiple players in time for the contest against Marseille.
