Report: Celtic to Approach PSG With a Second Offer for Bakker

A few days ago, a report in which Celtic FC approached Paris Saint-Germain on a loan-deal for Mitchel Bakker, which the capital club rejected.

However, as the saying goes, if at first, you don’t succeed, try, try again, and that’s what Celtic is doing. According to the Daily Record, the Scottish Premiership champions will be submitting a second offer for the 20-year-old.

The Scottish media outlet states any details on whether it will be another loan offer from Celtic or if they will look to purchase Bakker. At left-back, there’s Juan Bernat, who has a year left on his contract and the recently re-signed Layvin Kurzawa ahead of the Netherlands international on the depth chart.

If there’s no deal between Bernat, Bakker could seize this opportunity to jump from backup to starter. Furthermore, this season he can see minutes considering that Kurzawa has a history of fitness issues. It all depends on how PSG sees Bakker, but if they decide to sell him, it’s essential to add a significant resale clause.
