Report: Bernat Suffered Left Knee Sprain Injury During Fixture Against Metz

Paris Saint-Germain defender Juan Bernat could be out for a while as the talent is now dealing with at the least a left knee sprain injury, according to a report from L’Equipe.

The Spanish defender suffered the injury during the second half of the team’s home league fixture against Metz. Bernat was in notable pain, and manager Thomas Tuchel elected to sub him off as a precaution. Mitchel Bakker finished off the game out at the left-back position.

PSG’s medical staff will further evaluate Bernat on Thursday to thoroughly examine the extent of the defender’s injury. For the moment, the defender is reportedly just dealing with a left knee sprain injury. However, this injury is not one that would keep him off of the pitch for a significant amount of time.

PSG sure hopes that Bernat did not suffer a more serious injury. If this happens to be the case, Tuchel could then provide more playing time to Bakker, who was a recent standout performer over the team’s two cup final wins last season.
