Report: Bayer Leverkusen Showing Interest in Draxler

Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen is showing interest in current Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Julian Draxler, according to a report from Le10Sport.

Leverkusen recently lost now-former attacking talent Kai Havertz to Chelsea FC via a blockbuster transfer move. The club is now scouring the market for an attacking-minded player who could help replace the production now left by Havertz. Leverkusen views Draxler as one player who could do just that. At the moment, Leverkusen is simply just interested in Draxler as there have been no reports stating that the German side has already reached out to PSG to begin transfer negotiations.

This potential transfer move could become complicated due to Draxler’s aspiration in not returning to Germany anytime soon. According to a report from L’Equipe, Draxler does not want to return to the Bundesliga but rather is eyeing a move to a contending Premier League side.

Draxler has been one talent who PSG is aiming to sell over the current transfer window. According to an August report from Le Parisien, PSG aspires to offload Draxler this summer. The German talent has just one year left on his current contract, which is why PSG seemingly prefers to sell the midfielder rather than to lose him on a free transfer next year.
