New PSG Goalkeeper Alexandre Letellier Reflects on his First Stint With the Club and What he Aims to Achieve This Season

Paris Saint-Germain recently signed free agent Alexandre Letellier to become the team’s new third-string goalkeeper. The deal is just for one season as the goalkeeper will then become a free agent once again next year.

This is not Letellier’s first stint with the club. He was in PSG’s youth system a decade ago but never made an appearance for the first-team. Still, his time with PSG propelled his professional career as he later wound up playing for multiple clubs. In an interview with PSG TV, Letellier reflected on his time with PSG’s youth system and his joy in now returning to the club.

“It’s an incredible moment!” Letellier said. “I was at the youth academy here for 10 years without ever signing a professional contract. And 10 years later, I’m back to be part of the first team. It’s a great feeling.”

Letellier could end up going the entire season without playing a fixture for PSG. Still, he has his own personal goals that he would like to achieve while at the club.

“To improve as much as possible, to learn, to work well and help my teammates as much as I can,” Letellier said. “I’m really looking forward to meeting my fellow goalkeepers who I’ll be working with.”

For now, Letellier will just be waiting for when manager Thomas Tuchel calls him to feature for the club. He is currently behind goalkeepers Keylor Navas and Sergio Rico in the depth chart, so he is just going to wait on the bench or stands until the time comes for him to finally play with PSG’s first-team.
