Paris Saint-Germain youth talent Bandiougou Fadiga is currently the team’s most-watched prospect. He was the only PSG prospect to feature in the team’s last two games. While he did not feature much over both contests, it showed that manager Thomas Tuchel is beginning to trust the talent.
Laurent Huard knows the talent very well. During his stint as manager of PSG’s U17 team, Huard worked with Fadiga. As a former coach of his, Huard recognizes Fadiga’s potential and what he needs to improve on as he seeks more playing time with the first-team. In an exclusive interview with Le Parisien, the French manager provided some insight on the midfield talent.
“He has always had a strong desire to succeed,” Huard said. “He doesn’t set himself any limits. He has always played against bigger, stronger players than him.”
Huard also spoke about Fadiga’s on-ball play. The former PSG U17 manager sees strong potential in his prowess as an attacking midfield talent.
‘He’s a very technical player,” Huard said. “He’s very comfortable handling the ball, knows how to keep it even when it’s coming at him hard. It’s almost out of the ordinary. He’s more of an offensive midfielder but can play as a relay player thanks to a large volume of play.”
Fadiga could be in line to receive more minutes as a substitute for Tuchel’s side this season. He may end up earning his first start with PSG in a Coupe de France fixture or in a particular Ligue 1 contest when Tuchel plans to rest multiple first-team players.
In the big picture, the potential is there for Fadiga.
