‘He Always Has the Ability to Make the Difference’ — French National Team Manager Didier Deschamps on Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe is currently not in top form due to an injury that he suffered in the recent UEFA Nations League fixture against Sweden. He admitted following the contest that he suffered a slight knock to his right ankle but the injury is not severe.

French national team manager Didier Deschamps sure hopes that the injury will not become a problem for Mbappe. France has another Nations League group stage fixture scheduled for this upcoming Tuesday against Croatia. In his press conference on Saturday (via Canal Supporters), Deschamps lauded Mbappe’s play and spoke about his slight ankle injury.

“I didn’t find him inside, he’s not in top form either,” Deschamps said. “He always has the ability to make the difference in the action where he scores the goal. Few players are able to do that, he has his flashes. It is a permanent danger for the opponent.

“I make sure to pay attention to the training sessions. His ankle did not show any particular concern. Each day that passes, it will necessarily get better.”

At the moment, Mbappe is slated to feature against Croatia as his side aim to make it two wins in a row in Nations League group stage play
