German National Team Manager Joachim Low Says Draxler Should Consider Leaving PSG to Earn More Playing Time Elsewhere

German national team manager Joachim Low is offering his thoughts on Julian Draxler’s complicated future with Paris Saint-Germain.

Draxler will be a free agent next year when his contract with PSG expires. The German talent was far from a regular for Les Parisiens over the past season. He made 22 appearances in all competitions and did not start in any of the team’s UEFA Champions League fixtures. He also did not feature in the team’s duo of domestic cup final fixtures.

With PSG manager Thomas Tuchel’s decision to not rely on Draxler as much over the campaign, Low thinks Draxler should consider leaving the club in order to gain more playing time elsewhere. In a press conference on Saturday (via Sport Buzzer), Low talked about why it may be time for Draxler to depart from PSG at this stage in his career.

“It would be important for Julian to take a step, even at the age where he plays regularly,” Low said. “The question is also whether Paris will let him go. He can always play along at this level. You know in Paris that he can do a lot. It is good for every player to be active week after week over the long term.”

PSG is currently seeking to depart ways with Draxler. According to an August report from Le Parisien, the club is set on selling Draxler over the current transfer window. But at the moment, there have been no reports of any team showing serious interest in acquiring the German midfielder.
