For the past year, Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel’s name has often been in the rumor mill because of his questionable future with the club. Tuchel’s contract expires next year, so it is understandable that rumors and reports have already begun to surface on whether his time with the club may soon be up.
When a manager is rumored to possibly leave his club, it is typical that reports subsequently emerge listing potential replacements for the possible vacancy. And in Tuchel’s case, there have been a number of managers who have been linked to possibly replace him. For one, former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is one name who has often come up as a possible replacement for Tuchel if PSG elects to sack the German coach.
On the contrary, Pochettino is denying all rumors linking him to PSG and a multitude of other clubs as well. In an interview with the Spanish-based radio station Cadena Cope, Pochettino talked about which clubs have not offered him a job.
“I don’t know who was putting my name in so many clubs,” Pochettino said. “I have not been offered by Barcelona, PSG, Juventus, Inter, or Newcastle.
“I am not overwhelmed, nor am I anxious about not training, maybe if the virus had not existed, I would be anxious to be participating in football.”
Pochettino remains a free agent manager, and if Tuchel is soon relieved of his duties with the Ligue 1 powerhouse, the PSG links to the Argentine manager would be sure to ramp up again.
