Former PSG Manager Unai Emery Believes Mbappe is a Player to Build Around for the Future

Former Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery is offering appreciation to two former players of his.

Emery spent just two seasons with PSG as a manager of the club. He did win seven trophies while with the club and even got to work with both Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. Even though it was just for one season, Emery managed one of the most prolific attacking teams in PSG’s history, led by these two world-class talents along with Edinson Cavani.

In an interview with the Spanish-based station Onda Cero (via Sport), Emery was asked about which player he would hypothetically sign to win now and also to build around for the future. The current Villarreal manager was straightforward in his response and picked those two former players of his.

“For immediate performance, I would bring in Neymar,” Emery said. “For future performance, Mbappe.”

Neymar did show over the recent UEFA Champions League knockout stage why he is a special player. On the other hand, Mbappe continues to show why he has the potential to possibly soon become the top goal-scoring forward on the continent. Both talents are players who many managers sure would likely hypothetically pick as well to be their superstar leaders.
