Thomas Tuchel took the microphone to speak with RMC Sport after Paris Saint-Germain fell 1-0 to FC Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League final.
One of the first questions that the German manager answered was over his thoughts on the form of the squad heading into the match against Bayern Munich.
“In recent weeks, we have shown everything that is necessary to win titles,” Tuchel said. “Luck also plays a big role. We gain more confidence by scoring the first goal. It was decisive for us. to score first. These are small details. We lose 1-0 against perhaps the strongest club in Europe. We have to keep that quality to fight again.”
Next, Tuchel answered what he thought of the squad, despite the result not going in the capital club’s favor.
“It was a fight. I do not know if we could observe it on television, but we gave everything on the field tonight. We could not wait for that in a final,” Tuchel said. We can’t control the result. I had the impression that the first goal was going to decide the fate of the game. I’m proud of the way we played and our mentality over the last few weeks.”
Then came the obvious question, which was about his future as the manager of Les Parisiens. With the rumor of PSG looking at Massimiliano Allegri, Tuchel could potentially be looking for a new job.
“I have a contract. I do not know anything else,” Tuchel said.
