Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe made his long-awaited return to action against Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal round. Even in his short time on the pitch, Mbappe has made a grand impact with his keen movement and overall presence in the penalty box. However, he came up short on two clear-cut opportunities.
In one play, Mbappe made a grand off-ball run on the left flank, as he then received the ball and hustled up into the penalty box for a shot attempt. However, his low-angled shot was saved by Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello.

Mbappe had another key goal-scoring opportunity minutes later. This time around, it was Atalanta defender Jose Luis Palomino who helped clear away Mbappe’s high-percentage opportunity.

Had Mbappe put away either of these two chances, it sure would have completely changed the tie in favor of PSG.
