After helping Paris Saint-Germain win the Coupe de la Ligue final against Olympique Lyonnais, Marco Verratti took the microphone to give his postgame thoughts, which were relayed by beIN Sports

The capital club midfielder discussed how they’re happy to have won the match. However, Verratti does admit that playing 120 minutes after a four-month hiatus was difficult. Despite how tired the squad is, that won’t stop them from doing some celebrating the 27-year-old admits.

“We are happy. It was a tough game and that’s normal because it’s a final against a good team. Winning a final like that while suffering is good. 120 minutes was hard after the four-month hiatus,” Verratti said. “It was not a good game. We’ll have a little party and then we’ll think about the rest. We still have three finals to win. We have already won two, there are three left. We are going to rest and try to arrive in Lisbon ready.”

Finally, the Italy international calms down the fanbase by saying the injuries suffered by Thiago Silva and Marqiunhos is nothing to worry about going forward. It’s only cramping the two central defenders dealt with in the match.

“Thiago and Marqui it’s nothing,” Verratti said. “They had a little cramps. And that’s normal after playing 120 minutes and after four months off.”
