After their 3-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann took to the microphone to speak with BT Sport, where Get German Football News relayed his words.
Despite his Leipzig squad’s valiant effort, the 33-year-old manager understands that the capital club deserves the victory. Nagelsmann added that for the first few minutes of the match, he liked Leipzig’s performance.
However, after PSG scored the second goal towards the end of the first half, he understood it would be difficult to overcome.
“The ticket for the final for Paris is well deserved,” said Nagelsmann. “In the first ten to 12 minutes, we did well and had good situations. It was hard to come back into the game after the second goal because Paris have a lot of quality,” Nagelsmann said.
“It’s hard to accept, but football is like this. After the second goal, the belief of our players went down a little bit. That’s normal. It’s not that easy to think about the good season we’ve had in the Champions League, but in one week it will be ok. We know it was a good season for a young team, and we will try to do it again next season and work hard.”
