Paris Saint-Germain fell 1-0 to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League final. Players on the squad weren’t the only ones disappointed by the result.
Former capital club midfielder Blaise Matuidi was on RMC Sport’s Top of the Foot, where he shared his disappointment as every PSG supporter did on Sunday. The 33-year-old did state that this squad made history by reaching the Champions League final.
“I was disappointed, like all PSG supporters, but I am also proud of the course of PSG,” Matuidi said. “They wrote a bit of club history by reaching the Champions League final for the first time. I know how hard it is to get there.”
However, he did add that to win these matches, Les Parisiens needed to take advantage of their scoring opportunities and pay attention to the little details.
“I think the final is played on details in the areas of truth,” Matuidi said. “Paris had the opportunities to score this first goal and we know that in this kind of match it is important. And Bayern were strong to let the storm pass.”
🎙💬 "Je suis déçu, comme tous les supporters parisiens. On est tristes, mais ils peuvent être fiers de ce qu'ils ont fait."
