Video: Benjamin Pavard on Not Fearing PSG and His Desire To Lift the Champions League Trophy

FC Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard spoke with RMC Sport ahead of their UEFA Champions League final match against Paris Saint-Germain.

One of the questions the French media outlet asked Pavard was over not having fear playing a squad Les Parisiens or other top clubs like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, for example.

“Paris is a very great team, very complete in all positions. They really did a very good job, with very good recruits,” Pavard said. “If you are afraid of playing a final against PSG, Real Madrid, or I don’t know who, you might as well stay with you. People are free to think whatever they want, but we have a final to prepare.”

The 24-year-old adds that he isn’t imagining losing the final and hopes to lift the Champions League trophy after the 90 minutes. Pavard states that only reaching the final is useless.

“If I lose the final. It would be a disappointment. To get there and lose in the final, I don’t imagine it at all,” Pavard said. “I hope to lift the trophy with the whole team. I’m very happy to be in the final, but if it is to lose it, it is useless.”
