Ander Herrera joined manager Thomas Tuchel to speak with the media ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League semi-final against RB Leipzig, where Canal Supporters relayed Herrera’s comments.
The Spain international discussed Thiago Silva being the captain for the remainder of the Champions League campaign. Still, Herrera mentioned that although the armband is essential, there are several leaders on the squad.
For example, Herrera states that Marquinhos, Neymar Jr., and Keylor Navas are also leaders along with Silva.
“When I arrived at PSG, the captain was still Thiago Silva. The captain is not the one wearing the armband. Marqui is a natural leader who doesn’t talk much,” Herrera said. “He is irreproachable on the pitch. Neymar is also a leader for his performance on the pitch and his influence, the same for Navas in relation to his career. The armband is important, but you can’t have just one leader to go far.”
