Rosario Central Is Benefitting From PSG’s Champions League Run

Every Paris Saint-Germain supporter celebrated the capital club’s advancement into the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League; however, they weren’t alone.

Over in Argentina, Club Atlético Rosario Central also was happy to see Les Parisiens reach the final four of Europe’s top competition because of the money that is heading their way due to the bonus it triggers, according to Olé.

When the capital club purchased current Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovanni Lo Celso back in 2016, the agreement both sides made in the five-year contract included a club performance bonus. It states that if PSG were to reach the semi-finals during the five-years of the contract, €145,000 would go to the Argentinian club.

Although Lo Celso has moved on from the Ligue 1 champions, the agreement of that contract stands. The language in the deal says that there’s no requirement for Lo Celso to be on the squad.

Furthermore, Rosario Central is already receiving €70,000 as a result of PSG making it to the quarter-finals. If the capital club advances to the final, they’ll receive €190,000. Finally, if they win the entire tournament, Rosario Central will get €240,000.

Overall the Argentina based club could receive €645,000 due to PSG’s Champions League run.
