Despite the interest from inside Paris Saint-Germain to extend Thiago Silva, it seems that the era of O Monstro with the capital club is coming to an end.
After their UEFA Champions League final loss to FC Bayern Munich, Silva confirmed his departure from the Ligue 1 champions. However, manager Thomas Tuchel is hoping that the club makes one last effort to extend their captain.
Over the last few days, the rumor of a potential move to Premier League club Chelsea FC became more of a reality, as reports indicated that a two-year deal is on the table for the 35-year-old.
According to Sky Sports News, Silva is reportedly on his way to London to undergo a medical. Furthermore, Globo Esporte reports that The Blues manager, Frank Lampard, is willing to offer the Brazil international the captain’s armband.
It’s a potential sign from the English manager of how much respect he has for the center-back. Also, with a good portion of their core group being young, Silva’s leadership will help.
