After Sunday’s UEFA Champions League against FC Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva will need to focus on his future, whether the capital club wins or loses as his contract expires at the end of this month.
Corriere dello Sport is reporting that the 35-year-old has said yes to a potential deal with ACF Fiorentina. Silva is familiar with Serie A, having made 119 appearances in all competitions for AC Milan from 2009 to 2012.
Despite reportedly saying yes to Fiorentina, nothing is official until the signature is on the paperwork. As a result, the Italian club is facing some competition for O Monstro. The Telegraph recently reported that Chelsea FC is in talks with the representatives of Silva.
Furthermore, L’Equipe is also reporting that both parties have talked over the last three weeks. In the end, Silva likely goes to whoever offers a better deal and significant role as he looks to prepare for the Copa America next year and, more importantly, the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
