Former Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva is now off to Chelsea after completing his medicals and signing his contract with the club, according to Sky Sport‘s Fabrizio Romano.
Silva signed a one-year contract deal with Chelsea, but he has an option for an extra year. He is now just waiting on the announcement from the club to make it all official.
Silva has never played in the Premier League, but he does have experience in going up against English sides. The Brazilian defender has had encounters against the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City in Champions League play. This move to the Premier League sure will pose a new challenge for the PSG legend.
The former Ligue 1 winner is slated to be a near-lock to regularly feature as a starter for the Blues over the upcoming crucial league campaign. Silva will also be sure to take part in a thrilling title race next season against both Manchester City and the reigning league champions in Liverpool.
