Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva could miss the upcoming friendly against Ligue 2 side Sochaux, according to L’Equipe.
Silva suffered a slight injury during last week’s Coupe de la Ligue final win over Olympique Lyonnais. PSG manager Thomas Tuchel elected to sub him off as a result. PSG has not announced of any significant injury with Silva. For the moment, he is currently slated to be fit for the UEFA Champions League duel against Atalanta next week.
The report also noted that both Marquinhos and Thilo Kehrer could end up being ruled out for the friendly. The Brazilian defender was subbed off in extra time of the recent cup final, while the German talent played in 50 minutes of the contest. Like Silva, both are projected to be available for the Atalanta clash in eight days.
PSG scheduled the friendly against Sochaux as a way to prepare for next week’s season-defining European fixture. Overall, PSG sure does hope that these three defenders will all have no injury or rust concerns by its matchup against Atalanta.
