Report: Ronaldo Considers Leaving Juventus for PSG to Link Up With Mbappé and Neymar

I’ve been writing about Cristiano Ronaldo potentially coming to Paris Saint-Germain since PSG Talk‘s inception back in 2015. Five years later and it appears the 35-year-old could finally land in the French capital.

According to France Football, Ronaldo would be dreaming of PSG and playing at the Parc des Princes to play alongside his close friend Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappé, who grew up idolizing the Portugal international.

The coronavirus crisis is potentially the only thing standing in the way of Ronaldo making the switch from Juventus to PSG. The financial impact of the pandemic makes it incredibly difficult for the Ligue 1 champions to afford a player of Ronaldo’s quality–even at his advanced age in football terms.

Ronaldo would love nothing more than to play under the bright lights of Paris instead of in seclusion in Turin. While some would argue that Serie A is a better league than Ligue 1, there’s no denying PSG’s marketing power. Along with Neymar and Mbappé, PSG would also be strong contenders for next season’s UEFA Champions League, and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner would no doubt love to lift the big-eared trophy one more time before he retires.

While it would be great to have a player like Ronaldo in the squad, it would likely mean the departure of Angel Di Maria, and given his performance this season, I’m not sure if I’m prepared to part ways with him just yet. The Argentine is three years younger and you could argue he’s been PSG’s most valuable player this season.

Ronaldo may want a transfer to PSG but I think he’s about five years too late.

  1. “Whilst some would argue Serie A is better than Ligue 1…”
Are you kidding? Of course Seria A is a better competition than Ligue 1. No -one with any idea about football would argue about this.
As for the bright lights of Paris versus the ‘ Seclusion’ of Turin’, the best French players like Platini, Zidane, Deschamps, Thuram, Trezeguet, and Pogba sure didn’t think so. Ronaldo was never going to l ave Juve. He wants a third scudetto and a champions league with our club. All Fake news.

    1. Didn’t Juventus just lose to Lyon in the Champions League? Doesn’t exactly make your case that Serie A is better now does it? Lyon didn’t even qualify for Europe next season 😂
