Report: PSG Transfer Target Castagne Set to Begin Contract Extension Talks with Atalanta

Paris Saint-Germain may have to remove one right-back from its summer transfer wish list.

According to the Italian-based outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoMercatoWeb), Timothy Castagne and his agent will hold contract extension talks with Atalanta next week. The Serie A side is aiming to come to terms with the right-back on a new contract deal. Castagne’s current deal is set to expire in 2022.

PSG has been linked with Castagne. According to the Belgium-based outlet Het Laatste Nieuws, Les Parisiens inquired about the right-back and viewed him as a player who could possibly replace Thomas Meunier, who departed for Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund after his contract expired.

PSG will just have to wait and see how contract talks between Castagne and Atalanta unfold. If the two sides end discussions without a deal in place, PSG could then reenter the sweepstakes for the full-back.
