Over the summer months, FC Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez saw his name linked to Paris Saint-Germain. The capital club sees the 24-year-old has a potential replacement, but although this rumor began to cool off, it could pick up soon.
At center-back, Bayern will welcome Niklas Süle back from a knee injury, despite the ongoing contract talks with David Alaba. The Bavarian club still expects him to sign a new deal. Then there’s the arrival of former PSG youth product Tanguy Kouassi.
Finally, Jérôme Boateng’s future with Bayern remains unclear. However, if all three remain with the German club, these are three names that Hernandez will be competing with for playing time. Meanwhile, Alphonso Davies is commanding left-back, which is Hernandez’s other position.
According to Kicker (via Canal Supporters), the France international could depart due to the uncertainty surrounding his playing time.
With this new potential development in Hernandez’s case, Les Parisiens could circle back to see if Bayern is willing to negotiate a deal for the 24-year-old.
