All eyes from within Paris Saint-Germain will be on its upcoming UEFA Champions League final against FC Bayern Munich. But for some within the club, it could be an opportunity to scout one promising defensive talent.

PSG is showing preliminary interest in Bayern Munich right-back Benjamin Pavard, according to L’Equipe. Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, is a fan of Pavard and is interested in a possible transfer deal. However, the report does not allude to Leonardo having any plans to soon reach out to Bayern and begin transfer negotiations for the defender.

Pavard signed with Bayern last year and is currently on a contract that will run until 2024. There have been no reports indicating that Bayern is looking to offload the talent after just one season. It is more so because of how reliable he was for the club this past season. He made 47 appearances in all competitions for the club and chipped in with 11 goal contributions.

PSG is searching the market for a right-back following the departure of starter Thomas Meunier. The club currently has Thilo Kehrer and Colin Dagba as its only options for the position.
