Report: PSG Remain Interested in Atalanta Defender Who Wants Out of the Italian Club

Timothy Castagne of Atalanta BC had seen his named link to Paris Saint-Germain since May when rumors began to surface. With Thomas Meunier departing for Borussia Dortmund, the capital club needs to add some depth to the right-back position.

Nonetheless, the interest from Les Parisiens remains intact, according to Sky ItaliaThe 24-year-old appeared in 27 Serie A, and six Champions League matches during La Dea’s 2019-20 season.

However, in the Italian club’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final match against PSG, Castagne only played eight minutes where he was a non-factor.

Furthermore, it seems as though the Belgium international doesn’t like the decreasing role he’s having with Atalanta. Gazzetta dello Sport (via Canal Supporters) is reporting that Castagne wants to leave.

According to Transfermarkt, Castagne’s value sits at €16 million, so it’s a reasonable price to pay for someone that will bring competition for Thilo Kehrer and Colin Dagba.

Despite the long-rumored interest from PSG, they could face competition for Castagne as Leicester City FC is also showing interest.
