Paris Saint-Germain’s search for a right-back has taken a turn over to one of its league rivals. According to the French-based outlet Le Parisien, PSG has inquired over Olympique Lyonnais right-back Leo Dubois.
With Thomas Meunier’s move to Borussia Dortmund, PSG sees that Dubois is one player who could come in and compete with both Thilo Kehrer and Colin Dagba for its starting right-back role. Per the report, PSG’s interest in Dubois also comes down to its ambition to add yet another French talent to meet UEFA’s requirement of having at least eight locally trained players in a Champions League squad. Dubois is a French international who has so far only featured for Ligue 1 sides.
Dubois logged 28 appearances in all competitions with Lyon this past season. He started in all four of its UEFA Champions League knockout stages fixtures, including its 3-1 quarterfinal victory over Premier League side Manchester City.
Dubois is under contract with Lyon up until 2024.
