Report: PSG Inquiring on the Availibility of Real Madrid Forward

Vinícius Júnior played a total of zero minutes in Real Madrid’s 2-1 return leg loss to Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

The 20-year-old felt like he would see some action, even if it meant coming off the bench; however, that wasn’t the case.

According to Marca, the Brazil international is disappointed and filled with questions about why he didn’t see any playtime in the second leg against City. Furthermore, the Spanish publication speculates that Vinícius might have a growing frustration with his role.

Since June 11, the Real Madrid forward has only started four of 12 matches for Los Blancos. Expanding his role as a starter for the entire 2019-20 season, Vinícius has only started 17 of 51 games.

Marca adds that manager Zinedine Zidane doesn’t trust Vinícius, and the number of times the 20-year-old starts is a reflection of a possible lack in confidence Zidane has in Vinícius. Despite the absence of Eden Hazard, the 48-year-old manager chooses Rodrygo and Marco Asensio over him.

With the lack of starter minutes, clubs like Paris Saint-Germain are beginning to inquire about the availability of Vinícius. Capital club sporting director Leonardo has asked about a possible loan, but the response from Real Madrid is “There is no case,” so we’ll see if there are any legs to this rumor.
