When the announcement over Marco Verratti’s calf injury, there were conflicting reports on whether or not it would cause the 27-year-old to miss the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal matchup versus Atalanta BC.

Initial reports were suggesting that it would cause Verratti to miss the match against the Italian club. Then they were retracted and followed up with the news that Paris Saint-Germain would evaluate their midfielder in 72 hours.

The 72 hours have come and gone, RMC Sport is reporting that Verratti will miss the match against Atalanta on Wednesday.

The French media outlet reported that Verratti would be on the 28 man squad that’s heading to Portugal. However, when the team departed, the midfielder was not with the group.

Despite Verratti not flying out Saturday with his teammates, Le Parisien is reporting that he will join the team on Tuesday, but adds that his status for the rest of the tournament is unsure should PSG advance past Atalanta.
