The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) is set to open a second transfer window for both Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs later this year, according to a report from RMC Sport.

The first transfer window was open from June 8 to July 9 for domestic deals only. Not many teams took advantage of the early transfer window. But now, the LFP is planning on opening a second transfer window that would run between Aug. 15 to Oct. 5. Teams from the top two divisions in France would then be able to register new players over this period, from domestic transfers to also those outside the country as well.

At the moment, teams are currently able to come to terms on transfer deals but will not be allowed to register the newly acquired players until the slated second transfer window opens.

The dates have yet to be finalized by the LFP’s Board of Directors. Still, it seems inevitable that the LFP will officially confirm the new transfer window before the Aug. 15 date.

Paris Saint-Germain certainly eyes the likely opening of the upcoming transfer window, especially as the team has been rumored to sign multiple players for depth.
