When arguably the best player in football potentially becomes available, and Paris Saint-Germain is one of the few clubs that could afford his wages, it’s in their best interest to do their due diligence.

As a result, capital club sporting director Leonardo spoke with Lionel Messi’s agent, his father, Jorge Messi, according to L’Equipe. The French media outlet is reporting that Leonardo contacted Messi’s agent to inquire about the situation.

When the 50-year-old talked with the Argentina international’s representatives, he received information that Messi is keen on Manchester City. It’s no secret with Pep Guardiola as the English club’s manager that they’re the favorites as they try and reunite Messi with his former coach.

Les Parisiens deny that any contact with Messi and his representatives. However, L’Equipe is sticking to the information that they reported.
