Premier League side Leicester City will consider pursuing a possible deal for current Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico, according to a report from the English-based publication Mirror (via Canal Supporters).
Per the report, Leicester view Rico as one who could soon replace current goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. With his age at 33 coupled with interest from other clubs, Leicester is planning ahead to the post-Schmeichel era and thus has Rico on its radar.
Leicester is not the only club interested in Rico. According to a report from Gianluca DiMarzio, Serie A side Lazio has considered pursuing a deal for Rico as well. However, no reports have emerged of Lazio engaging in serious transfer talks for the Spanish goalkeeper.
Rico has made nine appearances in all competitions for PSG this season. He is set to return to his owned club, Sevilla FC, following Les Parisiens’ current UEFA Champions League run.
