With the departure of Thiago Silva, Paris Saint-Germain could be in the market for a center-back if Leonardo, the club’s sporting director, isn’t convinced that Abdou Diallo can fill the role.
As many already know, Leonardo enjoys poaching off talent from Serie A. In his first stint with Les Parisiens, the 50-year-old brought in the likes of Silva, Edinson Cavani, Javier Pastore, Marco Verratti, and Zlatan Ibrahimović among other talents.
In his second summer window back as sporting director, Leonardo might be ready to go back to the Serie A well. Last year, PSG took Mauro Icardi off the hands of Inter Milan. This year they could be targeting their center-back Milan Škriniar, according to Tuttosport.
The Slovakia international’s transfer value sits around €46-million per Transfermarkt. However, the price could be lower if the Ligue 1 champions include midfielder Leandro Paredes.
With good relations between both clubs, a deal is possible, but it’s hard to envision Paredes being in this transaction as PSG needs to continue improving their midfield.
