Serie A side Fiorentina is seeking €40 million for defender Nikola Milenkovic, according to a report from the Italian-based outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport. The report mentions Inter Milan as one of the teams most interested in acquiring the Serbian talent.
Milenkovic has recently been on the radar of the reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain. In late July, CalcioMercato reported that PSG was among the teams interested in Milenkovic. Still, there have been no reports of serious talks being held between the two clubs.
Milenkovic was the most reliable defender for Fiorentina this past season. He totaled for 37 appearances in Serie A play. The lone fixture that he missed was due to a yellow card suspension and the team needed his services as it lost to eventual league champions Juventus by a 3-0 score. Milenkovic was a threat in the opponent’s box as well; he scored five goals over the campaign.
Milenkovic is one of many defenders who PSG is showing preliminary interest in. The club is set to lose center-back Thiago Silva later this month, so the board is looking for defensive depth in response.
