Serie A side ACF Fiorentina is currently laying out its plans for the summer transfer window and views Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes as one possible signing, according to the Italian-based outlet Corriere dello Sport.
Paredes is more so as an option for Fiorentina. The Serie A side has current Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira as its top priority to help revamp the team’s midfield. If the club is not able to acquire the Uruguayan midfielder, it will turn its attention to Paredes. Fiorentina’s board sees both talents as ones with similar tactical profiles to each other but still eyes Torreira as its top option.
The report concludes by mentioning that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta does not see Torreira in his plans for the upcoming season. If so, Fiorentina could swoop in and bring the Uruguayan midfielder back to the Serie A while Paredes stays pat at PSG.
If Fiorentina shows interest in Paredes, he could view the Italian side as a possible next destination. He would return to the Serie A and become a regular starter for a team looking to finish in the top six next season. However, there have been no reports indicating that Paredes aspires to leave PSG soon. Paredes does seem content with his current PSG tenure, especially as he earned key starts late in the season and is destined to add to his trophy case.
