Crystal Palace FC forward Wilfred Zaha wants out of the English club, according to Sky Sports.
The 27-year-old wanted to leave last summer, and The Eagles were willing to depart with Zaha as clubs like Arsenal FC and Everton FC were showing interest. However, Crystal Palace wanted £80 million, which is a price that scared off clubs.
A year later, the dilemma continues. Zaha wants to leave, and Crystal Palace is willing to oblige but at the right price. Manager Roy Hodgson added that there are questions surrounding his future with the club.
“It’s a dilemma for the club and a dilemma for him if he is so set on leaving,” Hodgson said. “If he feels he just does not want to be with us any more, that would be sad.”
Paris Saint-Germain, AS Monaco, and Borussia Dortmund are interested in the Ivory Coast international. Zaha wants to play in the UEFA Champions League, so that will Monaco out of the race. It could result in Dortmund and Les Parisiens bidding for the forward.
Now, what will be the cost for Zaha? Perhaps it’s due to English clubs being interested last summer that Crystal Palace put a high asking price on Zaha.
According to Transfermarkt, the 27-year-old has a value of €44 million, so The Eagles were charging their fellow Premier League clubs double his worth. If Crystal Palace lowers their asking price to teams outside of England, perhaps a deal can be down.
