Premier League side Chelsea has joined Paris Saint-Germain in the pursuit for Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon, according to ESPN.
According to the report, Chelsea and Real Madrid have been negotiating as of late on a possible deal for the Spanish talent. Talks between the two sides have reached an advanced stage, with discussions revolving on whether it will be a loan move or transfer deal worth €25 million.
Chelsea is not the only team inquiring about the Spanish left-back. As mentioned, PSG has also remained relatively interested in signing Reguilon. However, PSG has not become serious in its interest to the point where the side is deep in transfer negotiations.
At the moment, Reguilon is still on loan with Sevilla FC and will be until the team concludes its Europa League run this month. Both PSG and Chelsea will get an opportunity to scout the talent later this week when Sevilla faces Serie A side AS Roma in the round of 16 stage.
The left-back position is not a dire need for PSG as it has a trio of options available, including emerging talent Mitchel Bakker. Juan Bernat is also an option for next season if the club wishes to keep him this summer.
