Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has been rumored to leave the club this summer after a lengthy period with the reigning Bundesliga champions. Now, a price has been set on what Bayern is looking for in return for the Spanish talent.
According to Sport Bild’s Christian Falk, Bayern is seeking an estimate of €30 million for Thiago. He is set to be a free agent next year, thus the German club is not going all out to ask for a mega transfer fee.
Over the past couple of weeks, two clubs have been most mentioned as being interested in a Thiago transfer deal. Paris Saint-Germain is one club showing preliminary interest in such a move as it aims to bolster its midfield depth. Still, there have been no reported talks as it pertains to PSG and Bayern engaging in serious transfer negotiations for Thiago. Liverpool is another team eyeing a deal for Thiago. The €30 million price tag would remain the same for the Reds as well.
Thiago would be an ideal fit for both PSG and Liverpool. He can operate in a double-pivot setup, such as in a 4-2-3-1 formation. The Spanish midfielder is also one who can orchestrate play as a base midfielder, which he has shown time and time again for Bayern.
