Paris Saint-Germain has been offered the opportunity to sign Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin, according to a report from RMC Sport.
The report mentions that Bellerin is among the Arsenal players who are likely to depart from the club this summer. The club does not deem Bellerin as a player who it is looking to rely on for the upcoming season, which kicks off in a couple of weeks. Still, the report does not mention that PSG is interested in engaging with Arsenal about serious transfer negotiations for the Spanish defender.
Bellerin dealt with yet another injury-riddled campaign last season. The right-back did not make his Premier League debut until November, as he was recovering from his ACL injury over the earlier portion of the season. He also faced a nagging hamstring injury that sidelined him for multiple games. However, he did feature in two of the team’s biggest wins of the season against both Manchester City and Chelsea in the FA Cup tournament.
A Bellerin deal could be of interest to PSG. The right-back is currently locked into a contract that will run up until 2023. And considering the recent loss of starter Thomas Meunier to Borussia Dortmund, PSG could view Bellerin as an ideal fit to take hold of the starting right-back position. At the moment, Thilo Kehrer and Colin Dagba are the only current options for the role.
