LFP Reschedules PSG’s Match Against Lens

The Ligue 1 season for Paris Saint-Germain would’ve begun on Saturday against RC Lens. However, Mauro Icardi played zero minutes in the Champions League final. Many thought his agent/wife would say something but instead congratulated the squad. RMC Sport is reporting that the capital club requested to have their match rescheduled due to only having six days to prepare, which was accepted by the Ligue de Football Professionnel.

Instead of playing on Saturday against Lens, the match will now take place on September 10th. Les Parisens will have two weeks off to rest and recoup themselves being they take on the Sang et Or. Then, a few days later, PSG will welcome Olympique de Marseille.

There should be some fireworks considering the amount of talking Dimitri Payet did on social media after the Ligue 1 champions fell to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League final.

Finally, PSG will hit the ground running as they return to French league action since they’ll have four matches in two weeks. The capital club will look to add their 10th Ligue 1 championship this season, which will tie them with AS Saint-Étienne, for the most in league history.
