According to L’Equipe, September 15th will be the debut of Amazon Prime Video’s documentary on the 50 years of Paris Saint-Germain football entitled This is Paris, 50 years of passion.
The first episode of the docu-series is called “Very Close To the Stars,” which will document the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League run. Despite the disappointing ending as Les Parisiens fell 1-0 to FC Bayern Munich in the final, there’s still plenty of memories to highlight on that journey.
Whether it’s Keylor Navas returning to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and putting on a ten save performance against his former club Real Madrid, then there’s PSG responding to adversity in the Round of 16.
After dropping the first-leg 2-1, return to play Borussia Dortmund behind closed doors at Parc des Prince amid a coronavirus pandemic lurking and got a 2-1 result which put them in the quarter-finals for the first time since 2016. Finally, there are the two goals in stoppage time against Atalanta BC that would put them in the semi-finals.
With Amazon Prime Video’s crew having all-access, it should be a fantastic episode. According to the French media outlet, the documentary will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in France in a few weeks and then two months later in other countries except China and the Middle East.
