PSG Prospect Martin Adeline Signs With Stade de Reims

Paris Saint-Germain just lost another promising prospect, as midfielder Martin Adeline has signed with Stade de Reims.

The 16-year-old talent was a member of PSG’s U17 side. He was offered a professional contract by Les Parisiens but declined it to instead sign with Reims. In an interview with France Football, he spoke about the family matter that ultimately made him decide to leave PSG and return to his hometown team.

“During confinement, my mother had the results of the blood tests she had just taken, and it was not good,” Adeline said. “She has a big health problem. And my mom’s health is more important than football.”

While he is leaving PSG, Adeline still has hopes to someday return to a top club.

“Even if I leave PSG, I do not give up my ambition to play at the high level,” Adeline said. “This is why I chose Reims, it allows me to continue in a club which is in the process of becoming a big club again, with super modern facilities, while being close to my mom.”

This deal with Reims is Adeline’s first professional contract. He remains a promising midfielder to watch.
