Paris Saint-Germain has revealed the 28 players who were selected by manager Thomas Tuchel to represent the club for the remainder of the UEFA Champions League knockout stage in Lisbon, Portugal.
There are no major surprises in this squad selection. It is worth noting that Tuchel did include Kylian Mbappe, Marco Verratti, and Layvin Kurzawa in the 28-man squad list. All three players have been dealing with injuries as of late. Tuchel has not ruled out any of these three regular starters from PSG’s upcoming clash against Atalanta.
Tuchel did select multiple youth talents, including Arnaud Kalimuendo. If needed, Tuchel could provide Kalimuendo with some playing time as a late-game substitution. This could be a decision that the German manager could end up being forced to make considering the multitude of injuries that have plagued the squad as of late.
PSG will meet Atalanta in the Champions League quarterfinal round on Aug. 12.
