Lionel Messi announced that he wants to depart FC Barcelona has sent shock waves. The 33-year-old is reportedly keen on Manchester City FC, according to Marcelo Belcher of Esporte Interativo.
However, this isn’t going to stop Paris Saint-Germain from getting involved; it is Messi after all. RMC Sport is reporting that Les Parisiens are monitoring the situation with the Argentina international. Their interest all stands on the clause in his contract that will allow him to leave on a free transfer.
Furthermore, it seems as though the capital club has a man on the inside looking to recruit Messi. The French media outlet is also reporting that Neymar Jr. is in talks with his former Barca teammate.
It will be fascinating to see if, after all of Messi’s efforts wanting the 28-year-old back with the Catalan club, the roles have reversed. Messi will have to decide which chapter in his career would he like to re-open, whether it’s going with his ex-manager in Pep Guardiola or ex-teammate in Neymar Jr.
